Default Reload/Factory Load

Alot of my buddies shoot factory bullets, some shoot ok but some shoot terrible. Is there a company out there that makes a bullet that shoots as good or even close to a handloaded bullet, if so who? Opinions please! Thank you!

Hornady, seems to be the most consistant factory loads that I have seen to date.

Welcome mykey, I think you'll "like it" here...LOL

I agree hornady are extremely good factory loads. I have also had good luck with some Federal Premium bullet offerings. I use to like Winchester Supreme line, but few years ago they were losing the accuracy, I haven't been back since. Rem to me haven't been worth the green box they come in.

However like everything, you just have to test and see what is the best in your gun. If you haven't tried Hornady, pick up a box, many guys i know this is all they shoot for factory mo.

I have seen rifles that prefer remington, some that prefer federal and some other brands. The only way to find out what works best in your gun is trial and error. The same applies to handloads and some handloads will not group as well as some factory loads again dependant on your gun.

I've had the best accuracy using Federal Premium. I haven't tried the Hornady factory loads as I've been reloading for several years now.

Best to buy a few different Manufacturers as well as different loads from them and try them. You'll find one your rifle likes better than the rest and if it likes them all even better<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I have never used a factory load either that was as good as my carefully developed loads tailored for each gun I have, but stubblejumper is correct. If you are willing to test various brands in a particular rifle, you will find one that gives you better performance than the others. However, no-one can tell you which brand it will be for your individual gun!! Sorry!! You have to discover this by testing each brand. And, it can also vary from ONE LOT NUMBER TO THE NEXT in the same brand as well!! So, when you find the load that is better, buy several boxes of that lot number, so you don't have to go through the testing drill too often!!

Keep yore powder dry!!
