My daughters new load is 35.6 grains of h4895 and 120 grain ballistic tips .this load should be traveling around 2600 fps .how do you think this combo will perform on whitetails under a 150 yards .Any other bullet or load combos would be appreciated.
Thanks

, lot of people love the bt's and with the lower vel. it out to put a whitetail down hard[:-], hows she do shooting it? my grandson has been shooting my wifes model 7 in 260rem since last year and he is doin great

Every time I or someone else shoots my 7/08 I wonder whyothers think they don't kick.I shoot every week with calibers from 223 to 300 wsm and I can notice my 7/08 kicks pretty good.
Any time you can soften the load for a young shooter thats starting out they are going to injoy it more and stay with it longer. The load you came up with should work on deer fine.
I let a friends grand daughter shoot my 7/08 and 260 the other day with the 260 she put 3 shots into a one inch circle, after shooting the 7/08 a couple times she didn't want to shoot it any more. She is 15 yr old.
Hope your daughter gets a big one.

Thanks fellas
She shot the factory ammo ok , Im sure she will shoot the milder ammo much better . She can shot 3/4 inch groups with her 223 and killed three hogs with it when she was seven .She is all of nine now and going on a Christmas White tail hunt .I am also thinking of loading up some 120 grain Barnes triple shock X bullets as well . Her rifle is a Weatherby MK 5 cut down to 12 1/4 lop , with a 2x7 Nikon UCC . I also put a Mecury supresor in the stock as well as a Kick Ezz recoil pad .It is a neat little package .I didnt buy my first Weatherby till I was thirty five ,she has got it made! I shot her gun many times and to say there is no recoil would be a gross oversight .
Shoot straight . Woodie

If you are going to try the tsx you may want to try IMR 4350 and Varget.I worked up the loads below but afterwards went to 50 grs I 4350 and using a cheaper hornady 120 gr SP and still got one hole groups @100yds.Going to try them on deer this year.
