Default Reasonable fee for Custom Reloading?

In another post, one of the contributors talked about getting his .30-378 Weatherby brass reloaded for $30 per box. It looks to me like the components (premium stuff) would cost around $15. So that would put the labor involved at about.75 cents per case. I have never gotten any ammuntion custom loaded, but is this the kind of fee normally charged for custom reloading?

Once you figure in $500 for an FFL, the cost fo the equipment needed, and the cost of liability insurance, you might have a good basis for starting to figure out how many $30 boxes of ammo you need to sell to break even. Of course, ignore this if you aren't interested in the legal aspects of it, or don't mind risking your property and your future earnings on the event of one of your reloads dismantling someone else's rifle in a very spectactular manner.

There's a reason why small reloading (remanufacturing) outfits only deal with high volume calibers like .45 acp, 9mm, and .223.

What I was thinking about here was a "willingness to pay" issue. My shop has a FFL, sales tax license, lots of reloading equipment - will have to check with my insurance provider on the liability policy . . . But if folks are willing to pay .75 cents per round for custom loaded ammunition, it might be a worthwhile venture from a business standpoint. Up until now, I have avoided ammuntion manufacturing completely - concentratingon the gunsmith service.

for 100 bucks, you can get a Lee starter kit, buy powder ,primers, bullets and go at it, ATF dont care if you load your own. you just cant sell it wothout the license. its not that difficult.
