Default RCBS Competition dies

I've been reloading using Lee dies and I'm trying to reduce bullet runout. Has anybody here compared Lee, RCBS and RCBS competition dies or even redding dies? Is there a significant difference in bullet accuracy or more specifically bullet runout? How about ease of use?

Thanks

I have done alot of comparisons with runout. I love redding comp seaters. But they are expensive. But here's the deal. If you neck thickness varies or neck runout before seating, it doesn't matter what seater you use, its going to have runout.

I like to keep my bullet runout below .004". I notice in cartidges that have freebore, it does make a difference. But calibers like a 308 win that you load close to the rifling, I can't see much difference in hunting rifles.

I like Redding dies as well. When you get to a certain point in precision reloading, its time to look into outside neck turning. About as exciting as knitting, but you only have to do it once . . . .

I agree with Roskoe. I like the Redding "S" die set. Very accurate and just a bit more accuracy that the standard die sets.

If you want to seriously reduce runout, get Redding bushing dies. Runout primarily occurs as the result of the expander ball coming back thru your neck. With Reddings bushing dies, this problem is eliminated.
