Default Spot Lights 2004 seson (pics)

Well here they are my 2004 seson in pictures, hope they show up.

Had a good year taking 2 moose and 3 deer. Couldn't get a pic of the last deer but it was a small antlered, big bodied deer. Shot him after calling him in with a grunt and can call at 20yds. 40 yrd recovery. And as the gods of hunting are, saw my first P&Y 10 minutes after making the shot on the first deer. After watching him for 30 minutes I dressed the "trophy" that I took home, thats hunting I guess.

The Doe by herself was shot on opening day with my new Parker Phoenix. Made a "lucky" shot and hit her in the neck she went 25yrds and was down for good, probabaly the fastest bow kill yet for me.

Shot the moose in Marten River (Temagami) area of Ontario. The bull I shot on the 2nd day of the season. Called him for about 2hrs and he wouldnt leave the cow he was with. Finally he cme out at 100yrds. 2 shots from "Betsy" (Rem 308, model 700) put him down for good. Rack went 52" and took three days to get him out of the bush. 6km carry, dont try that at home, almost killed us.

The cow I shot on the following sunday and after some mistakes from my hunting partners, shot her at about 150yrds as she was making her way into the bush from a clearing. She was with a young bull and another cow. Hit her as she was running away and put it in front of her hind leg going into her lungs, 75 yrd recovery. Took all day to get her out of the bush, old cow alot of grey on her. Interesting she had a old rifle slug in her liver, a shot I thought would kill her. The wound was all healed over from a previous season.

The meat pole pic., was from our anual Parry Sound camp. The doe (2nd from left) was shot as she entered a clearing about a 100 or so yards away. Kept looking back at a deer I never did see. She was heading for a property we didn't haver permission to hunt on, so I shot her befor she made it that far. Dont want to know what was behind her LOL. The two guys to my right shot thier first deer. Great year at camp.

Been a good year and lots of good eating in the freezer for me and my family. Hope every one had a good season and an even beter 2005.
