I can't wait for next Tuesday; bear and geese season opens in my area. It's going be strange with the locals wanting to get rid of the bears and a limit of 8 geese per day (24 limit). That's a freezer full, if someone liked goose that much.

Wish I had known that, havent ever hunted them, thought there was no closed season. Wonderring now what might have been dragged out. Wish I took lic. plate numbers.
How did you do on the geese? got out tuesday afternoon, 2 of us took 9 in a couple hours. Had 2 big flocks(40+) come in and a double. Jerky is getting marinated tonight!

I'm getting my barrel bored out by Al Simmons. I've got to change tactics when I go back up tomorrow. The geese have moved to the lakes to feed on the wild rice. That's where I have to move.

Ever tried, cutting those goose breasts in strips, then use some southern fired or cajun shake n' bake and deep fry. Taste like dry ribs, may help to thin out the freezer and hey you might like it. It is a hit at our deer camp! I concur on the jerky though!
