Quebec Winter Caribou Hunting

RE: Quebec Winter Caribou Hunting
If anyone is interested I had another participant on this forum give me his dates at Mirage for 2008, this fall. Due to my fathers illness and myself being his main caregiver, I need to give up the hunt myself due to the uncertainty of the situation. I have a luxury room for 2 reserved for 11-26-08/11-29-08, checking out at noon on the 30th. It is also possible to add one or two other hunters if they don't mind sleeping together in a double bed. I consider these dates to beexcellent in terms of the crapshoot of timing the migration. I hate to have to do this as I have always wanted to stay at mirage for this hunt.
I know with the fuel price situation there may be many that are not going this year but maybe this may be the time to get it done before nobody can afford to go anymore.
PM me if interested, thanks.

It's July 1st. I'm not trying to wish the summer away but now that I'm officially retired I'm looking forward to spending most of the fall doing mostly hunting related stuff. Spending time at the hunting camp and not thinking about having to go back to work. No rush no fuss just take your time and enjoy. And the of course there's the fly in caribou hunt thelast week in September and the winter hunt the end of November. It truly is a wonderful life.

I am in eastern Qc. and we are paying1.50/litre today, that works out to about 6.84 per Canadian gallon!!
It probably wont be any less up north!! Sorry for the bad news!!!Rodney.

Nothing yet. They probably won't do it. Just a ploy to get everybody to spend their money. This rumor has been going on for 5 years and they haven't done anything yet. In my opinion they probably won't.

Looks like the migration is turning into another nice easterly flow like last year. Yes - for all the naysayers it is early and no one can tell, but it looks like a similar pattern. Herd estimates are also up - so I am hoping for another good year of hunting Laforge for early winter.
