Dream Hunter did he say what road and what mileage he was seeing the caribou at? Did he get some nice bulls?

luv2hnt he said that they were at about km 500. they had to drive 20-30 miles on snowmobile to get to them. the road was snowed over to much. when they got to them, he described it as if someone put large rocks across the road and as far as you could see. The carribou were all lying down. He said that it was a sight to see. He said there were aproximately 5,000 caribou infront of them. As to the size, he said that the bulls were a little smaller than he has seen in the past, were still nice size. It was his last day to hunt and far away from their truck so I dont think they spent a lot of time sorting thru the thousands of the carribou to find the bigest one. At least I dont think I would...At least he saw a sight of a lifetime and filled both his tags. He and his friends were leaving this morning to come home and should behome monday evening or tuesday morning

the wheather network shows very little snow in raddisson , is there really 3 ft. of snow at mirage right now or is that a mistake.

harness racer... yes there is that much snow. my husband (fire3517) said that the snow is at waist hight and was snowing hard. the weather was to bad yesterday that the choppers couldn't fly out

dream hunter Are you saying that they used the chopper to harvest those bulls or just a figure of speach?

no... the hellicopter could not fly yesterday because of the weather. some people may have used the choopers to get to the herd because its still like a 4 hour drive from the lodge. My husband and his friends drove their truck and used the snomobiles to get to the herd. It would be almost impossible to drive a truck the whole way. There is to much snow and the roads weren't plowed yet

Im not sure how they got the bulls back to camp .... Im asuming that they used the snowmobiles, but im not sure
