What, would you say, was the closest they got?
I did have a small herd pass at about 20yrds, but I'm not sure if making a noise would have stopped them. Watching a lake wouldn't be the best place with a bow, luckily the heavily used trails are easy to find in the snow. You wouldn't need a tree stand, the terrain is such that you could easily find a rocky knoll overlooking a trail to sit on, and there are no big trees anyways.

Looks like the LRH has 12 of the 23 collared females giving birth. The female population estimate if 385K and at this rate - based on 300K females of readiness the total birth rate is somewhere around 157K animals being born to this heard. This is based on the lowest heard estimate - Ihaveseen estimates of 780K animals.

Some big bulls in the making and the biger the herd to more push to the east we will see.

Quad427 - I would fix the issue ahead of time so you have no worries.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the info. I talked to some one who is an expert on taking care of this sort of thing. She told me that if the impaired driving is my only offense and it was more than ten years ago, there shouldn't be a problem.

Quad - that is true, but make sure you are honest at the Border. When they see that you have a posted offense during hte check they will ask you specifically if you had any issues - it you say no they may not give you access. Just tell them YES and that it was 10 years or more ago and it is all taken care of.

...And wear a Tony Stewart (20) hat!! We just came back from a family vacation in Canada and my wife had a Tony Stewart hat on. I know...but that is her only fault!! The guy at customs was so impressed he only asked us for ID, complimented my wife on her hat and talked about Tony Stewart for a minute or two and then left us through. Never asked a single question after that! The odd part was, the cars in front of us were taking up to 10 minutes each. They seemed to be asking a lot of questions!

Anyone know of any changes to transporting meat back into US?
