I hunted in WMU 37 near Iron Bridge. We had snow for the first Saturday to Monday then it rained on Tuesday. For the big storm, we had 3 or 4 hrs of rain following by a few inches of snow for Thursday Friday and Saturday.
Our group shot a spiker on Monday and another on Wednesday (both around 125 lbs dressed). We had lots of sightings but nothing close until the last Saturday. Our our first run of the day a father and son combo' d for two bucks and a doe (125 lbs). One was a 10 pointer (175 lbs) that actually had another tine growing that was starting to become a droptine as well. The other buck was a nice little six ptr (115 lbs) and that boy' s first buck ever.
I personally could have tagged out the first hour when I turned and saw a fawn and a yearling grazing behind me. Unless someone else got them though, they will both be bigger next year.

Just got in from the Manitoulin hunt (43B) and our gang really worked hard to get any animals. Would you believe 2 fawns and one doe for 4 guys. Rain like crazy and I had whitecaps on the crack of my butt. Like I said last year, " Oh well, maybe next year" .

Also just got back from 43B, had enough rain to make a duck fly south. The group got 7 deer, out of 13 tags! Blew the scope right off my slug gun on Thursday last week shooting at a doe, don' t ask me how but it happened. Like Sawbill said " Oh well maybe next year"

Seadog, I' ve noticed from the last few years the controlled hunt in Alliston, all the tags we get are for antlered deer. But they definitely decide between doe/buck.
