What kind of hunting are you interested in? Have you joined a Fish and Game Association club? You'd likely find some new hunting buddies there.

When I lived in Edmonton I used to drive west to the Edson area to hunt moose, elk, bear and shoot grouse. I'd hunt ducks and deer south towards Pigeon Lake or around Camrose area.

Be sure you get the Draw information and read it over well and apply for some draws. Even if you don't know what or where you want to hunt right now, you will have to get a few years "priority" before getting some permits so START applying NOW.

There are a couple Alberta based hunting forums where you will get more Alberta based information and help.

Good luck.
