It's feeling about $2500 under the weather:(

I'm looking at doing myself some rattling this weekend. I'll let you know how I made out (hopefully better than last).

I Tried a little rattling on sunday with no luck. Probably a little early yet. It's suposed to cool off this weekend so hopefully that will help. good luck.

OUCH, sorry to hear about your accident. I trust your ok JD? Then again maybe you require some healing time (long wekkend perhaps??)...has potential to be milked;).

I am having a aweful week as well. Had a meeting with thetop fellas yesterday, i'll skip the details but it was basically move to head office in TO or we will not be renewing your contract (expires in Dec.). I looked him in the eye and said as of tomorrow noon I am on holidays, I'll let you know my decision in a couple weeks. I have 8 weeks in the bank (been with this company in one capacity or another for over 12 years). So I guessmy new handle is"jobless in sask" b/cwe ain't moving to TO...[&:].The wife isin total agreement and said "hey why don't you head out hunting this evening to help clear your head?"....I SAID PARDON...WELL I......LOSE IT/SNAP. OKwhile I was speechless in our 16 plus year relation for the first time, I nod and promotely head to the mans room(basement) to get the heck out of dodge before the sheriff realizes what she said.......................:D:D

I think I'llgive the mulies one last go with the ML tonight(still have a horn and ear tag to fill). Imay try some rattling this evening and will let you know.

What a week no lama races or even brown phase, JD gets T-boned, I will be standing on the corner with a can and nobody is getting her done in the field. Really how much worse could it be:D...haha. Later all and good luck in life in general, seems we need it this year[&:]

Bummer about the jobSkeeter. If I were in the same position I would stay put too. It's bad enough to be out of a job but to disrupt the whole family for a transfer you don't really want doesn't seem to make sense. Good luck sorting things out. Maybe tonite will be the night you whack the big one and turn everybody's luck around:). I sense a Big Buck Magazine article with the "the buck worth quitting your job for" in it;)

Saskabush, thanks. That is it in a nut shell..FAMILY. This came up a couple years agobut move west, they wanted me to goto Vancouver but we were negotiating about Calgary as well. In the end my wife said she'd go to cowtown but it wasn't the right decision for us so I declined. We knew it was only a matter of time till it reared it's head again. Icould have given them the answer yesterday but thought p on that I had no warning or prep time[:@]. I am not worried, the family is behind us and I'll find something, besides a tin can;).

Tonight was good, though I never got away in time to setup for rattling as the wife and I instead had coffee with Dad. I did manage to get out for one last crack with ML for mulies though. Isaw6 mulie bucks, 3 whitetail (1 that wasdecent 5x5) nothing I wanted to use my either tags on.I deceided I'd fill my remaining mulie doe tag as I had a small group of does working towards me nearing the end of legal.A nice mature doe gave me a broadside shotinside 100 yards, whapthrough the top of the heart/bottom of the lungs. She's getting a little stinky,in this group of 7 not one fawn in the mix all were 2-4 year old does. Where are the big boys??? Must be laying low for the days ahead, rubs have really popped up in the past week in this location, way more than last week.

Saskabush, I thought she'd still be ok but not. I don't get whymulies get so stinky as rut approaches, I have yet to have a stinky whitetail but mulies[:'(].The hams area bit strongso I'll debone them for jerky, backstraps should be alright I recon. My first one at the start of the month was JFL, no smell and tender.Yeah 29E...zone is not what it used to be, at least around "RUDY".

I got smoked in the side as she was trying to back up. Hit the gas instead of the brake[:@]barely inderstood her...very heavy Chinese accent! Oh well at least I'm ok and it doesn't look too bad. Just bad tiing more than anything!
Skeeter, sorry to hear about the job...sounds like you did the right thing and I'm sure you'll do fine. Good call on taking holidays now though! Good job on the doe, agood huntalways clears my head too. Obviously you married a good woman!

Just for the sake of discussion, what do all you guy's do for a living? Myself...I run the design & drafting dept. at a little (oil & gas) engineering firm. Been here for just over 14 years. Wow has time flown! I remember starting as a jr. out of school, now look at me:D:D. I'm ready for retirement almost.
