RE: turtle lake
The rut is usually around the first 2 weeks of November. The deer have usually gone to bed by December Make sure you take your snowshoes and you should have a good time if you can locate the deer yards.

If your coming to hunt with Chaparrel Huntng Adventures in Saskatchewan, then you'll be hunting over bait! This is one of the most productive weeks to do so as thisshould be post rut and the bucks hit the baits they used as scrapes hard to replentish resources. Rut typically is mid November in Sask.My cabin is located 90 miles East of Turtle Lake and have always found the 15th(rut) or last week of season the best for buck movements.
Good luck in your hunt.

RE: turtle lake
this is good news to hear, I had heard that this was a good time to hunt because the buck were coming out of the rut and needed to eat to survive the long winter. I hope so!! the last time I went was 2 years ago and it was the week before thanksgiving shot a nice 150 class 8pt. hoping to do a little better this time.
