Marlin XL7 & a Bushnell Banner Scope
I purchased a MarlinXL7 bolt action and plan to attach a Bushnell Banner 3x9x40. The rifle camewithtwo top mount Weaver bases, a 47M and 402M, rather than the one piece mount. What rings do you recommendto best hold a zero as well as providesufficient bolt clearance?

Also bought the XL7 in .25-06 and awaiting to put a scope on it. It will either be a 3x9x40 Nikon Prohunter,Bushnell Legend or 3200. I was going to go with the low rings to ensure good cheek weld on the stock. Because of the tapered barrel I am sure it can accomodate the 40mm obj lens.

RE: Marlin XL7 & a Bushnell Banner Scope
I ended up getting the Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40 scope with low Leupold PRW rings and used the Weaver bases that were supplied with the gun. I have about .20" clearance between the barrel and bottom of the scope. I have a solid cheek weld with the bolt clearing the scope by about .25"
