One thing I find with lower end scopes is never enough eye relief.
One rule of thumb, if you find a scope in a molded plastic package hanging in an isle for under $100. at wal-mart save your money.

i mean i dont really have a maximum budget.. I just layed my new Savage Model 25 LVT .223 yesterday at my local gun shop for 10% down. so i dont even have the gun yet, but im just looking around for some scopes that will suit my needs. I was thinking ~$200

I have one on one of my muzzleloaders. I have not shot with it on it enough to know if it will hold up. I was going to put it on an sks but plan to change the mount to an scout.

the eye relief is pretty good turned to the max. good light gathering. I have a problem with tasco's picking up glare if near amber lights (part of my test off the gun), not with the Barska.
I never seen them at walmart. I got mine at sportsmans guide.

but once again, I have not shot it enough to know if I like it or not and if it will hold up. I am looking for another scope for this gun.
