Default Mounts

What are the best mounts out there. I am thinking of a weaver sure grip. I got a good scope and rifle i dont want to go cheap on mounts now. I think the leopolds look like junk. I AM shooting a 7MM. I dont want the mounts to throw my accuracy off by moving

I haven't had any problems with Leupolds myself but I have found myself as of late buying warne Maxima's instead. I purchased Talley LW's for my new .338wm this march and they have been JFL. BTW this setup has seen 200+shots and spent time in an atv scabbard.

Talley's are great, and so are Warne's .... they are worth the money....

But I use Leupolds on almost all my guns, and they have worked fine... no problems in many many years.

I tend to shy away from Weaver mounts and rings / bases, unless thats the only kind that will fit the gun, and I have some Rugers that came with their own rings, so naturally I use them, but they also have always worked well.

If you buy decent rings and bases, and install them properly, then the Leupolds will not fail you. But if you want the " Best " then look at the Warne's and Talley's.

MET

Most of my guns have Weaver mounts. Never had any trouble with them. It is easy to change out a scope if one goes bad on a hunt: Just put thepre-zeroed spare scope on the gun.
