Good pair of binoculars for around $300
#41

I stopped at the glass counter at a sporting goods store a few months ago and was talking to the clerk about binos. I was looking at some mid-range stuff and he immediately started pimping a pair of Nikons in the $450 range, going on and on about their quality, value, warranty, etc. I suggested he look through the $300 Bushnell Infinity they had in the display case. He stopped pushing the Nikons on me after looking through the Infinity.

Great post skeeter! I learned the same lesson when hunting out west for the first time. My Bushnell Banner10X42s that worked so well here in the east were somewhat limiting in Colorado. I was saved by my Leupold spotting scope. Before my next trip, I'll be purchasing some Zeiss 10x40's.

Heres another vote for the Leupold Cascades. I have the 10x42's in black. They work well, and they have a lifetime warranty.
Like a lot of others on here I also think that the Nikon Monarchs are a good buy, and I believe that they have a 25 year "no fault" warranty.
