Default Nikon Binos

OK, I admit it! I've always been too cheap to buy a good pair of Binos. But now I finally broke down and spend at least some $$$ on quality glass. Now I realize some might say I'm still too cheap, but I like my purchase.

I just received my Nikon Monarch 8x42's yesterday. Wow, I did'nt realize how a good you could see out of a decent pair of Bino's! Does anyone else out there have this Bino and what is your opinion about them?? For the money (I paid $250), I think they're great!!!

My GF has been asking me about binos for a while now. Thinking I might get them as a Christmas present.Anyway, the ones she was describing are Steiners. I don't know if I need a $1000 pair of binos if I've been hearing all these good things about the Monarchs. Maybe I can talk her into getting me the Monarchs and another bow.

Are the 10x42's considerably larger than the 8x42's?
