Default Any recommendations for my Varminter?

Hey all,
I just purchased a Bushmaster Varminter recently, and im looking to invest in a good scope. It has a cruddy scope mounted on it ive used a few times at the range, but i want something good... I dont know a whole lot about scopes, just getting into the whole shooting scene, but what would be a good scope for this gun? What kind of magnification should i be looking at? It will primarily be used for range shooting, as well as 'varminting' etc etc.... Price isnt too much of an issue. Thanks!

I've got a Zeiss diavari victory 6-24x56 with illuminated recticle nr. 43, it's the best scope "what so ever". If you want to go cheaper I would recommend the zeiss conquest series, maybe the 6,5-20x50...

Also check out the nightforce NXS series: 5,5-22x56 or 8-32x56, great varmint-scopes...

hey thanks for the input guys! I had to laugh at myself though, as i said, im new to shooting, and when i said price wasnt an issue, i didnt realize that there were this caliber of scopes out there!! WOW!! So.... after looking at the prices for the ones shared, i decided i probably dont need the best one available, i dont really wanna spend more on the scope than the gun! So is there some other options that are maybe a little bit cheaper?

Give your maximum budget range and go from there.

I spose i would be willing to spend up to around $800-900... I THINK that there should be something well within this price....

I just put the Cabelas Tactical 6-18x40 on my Varminter. It is as clear or clearer then my VX-I and VX-II. And it is only $170!! I was also looking at the Leupold VX-II 6-18x40, a nice scope. Or the Weaver V-16 and the Nikon 6-18x40 also looked pretty good.
