Which scope for a .32 cal. modern muzzleloader?
Which scope would be best for a .32 caliber Green Mountain muzzleloadermodern type, thegun uses a 209 center fire primer. The rifle is a scope only mode it shoots .310 round ball ammo. This gun came with Redfield scope mounts.
I am considering a Swift Premier 2-7x32 or a Bushnell Elite 3200 2-7x32, I have also considered the Bushnell 3200 Elite 1.5-4x32 Firefly or would just a straight 4x like the Nikon Pro staff work OK. Would there possibly be a better scope for this application? I would like to keep the price at or below the $250.00 range. I would imagine that the guns maximum useable range will be around 75 yards give or take a few. I will be using it mainly for small game and the target range. This is what the gun looks like for reference.
Thanks,
Mike

RE: Which scope for a .32 cal. modern muzzleloader?
Thanks Redlion,
I have really read high praises on that 3200 Elite. The one question that I have is on this parallax subject. I had been pricing this scope out on different sites. I had asked about it on the Optics Planet website and they advised me to go with a Nikon Prostaff 4-32 parallax 50or a Nikon 2-7x32 parallax 75. They also had mentioned that any of the high end .22 rimfire scopes similar to the Leupold VX-1, 2-7x32 parallex 60.
Some of the guys on the muzzleloader forum thought that the Bushnell Elite 3200 2-7x32 parallax would be a great scope. I believe that the one you mentioned has the Firefly is this a worth while addition? I really did like the idea of the 1.5-4.5x32, the power rating was pretty enticing. I talked with someone on the Firefly and he said that he did not care for it, sounded pretty good though.
Thanks again,
Mike
