Zeiss 8x42 FL's. Got 'em for $1150 as a SHOT show demo, vs. the $1600 retail.
They made a huge difference on my trip to BC, & I'm glad I was able to spend the $ on 'em.

I just won a pir of IOR Valdata 10x40 porro prism binos on ebay. 200 bucks. They are made in Romania and use Schott glass (like Zeiss). I seem to have a penchant for off brand European binos.
I have 3 Eschenbachs, 1 Optolyth, one Zeiss Jena (from east germany) and now a Valdat from Roamania. I hope to get a pair of Russian army 10x40 rubber coated soon
Will let you know how the Romanian binos stack up.

It depends on the situation. I am quite fond of my 8x32 Leica Trinovids for daytime use but for lower light levels then either my Nikon Venturer 8x42s or my Meopta Meostar 8x42s.
