Vortex may not be a very well known name yet but they are getting a great rep quickly. Lifetime transferable unconditional warranty aned the prices are great. I just bought a pair of 8x42 Vipers and feel that at that price point ( $539.99) you need to jump up to the big $$ Euroglass to top them. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Terry - I was going to make a very similar post but you beat me to it. I picked up a set of 10x42 Vortex Vipers and I love them. As you said, you would most likely have to step up to a set of Euro binos to beat them, and for the cost difference I cannot personally justify the purchase.
These are great optics and I love them. They got their first taste of moisture (snow) yesterday morning and never fogged up anything. I recommend them highly to anyone in the market for a good set of binoculars who doesn't want to spend a small fortune.
