I just heard that the team as been picked for the 3DI Olmpics in Italy this summer . Why is this such a big secret ? I asked Ken last year about this and he acted has if he didnt know what I was talking about ? I had ask what the rules were for this event ,but no one new . It would be nice if someone could tell us what we have to do to qualify for this or is it just a some kinda buddy deal. I remember all the hopla in the IBO magizine ,how IBO was joining FITA to get this world event going. ,It would be nice if the IBO and FITA could tell us how to get into this , A friend of mine still thinks he is going to qualify for Italy and now I must tell him he will not get a chance too.

Final decisions will be made next weekend.
The team has to be entered by the end of month. We got copies of the forms last week from the NAA. They have had them for a while, but got them forwarded to us last week.
At this point there is a communication problem with the 3-D shooters / organizations and the FITA national organizations. (Ours is much better than most) They are working on that problem and it will get better. In an organization as diverse as FITA these things take more time than we would like, but that is what it is.
We were under the impression the shoot would be in July as it was the last time. It has been changed to May.
With these time constraints it is not possible to use events from this year to qualify shooters for this year. So using the shoots from last year we have established rankings. Preliminary candidates have been contacted and we have spoken with most of them and will finalize the shooters by next week end. Announcements will come the following week.
All being said now is hearsay.

I guess then that the rules for competing in the 3DI our the pevious years shoots ?????? Does this mean you have to have so many IBO shoots????? or just the world ?????? or maybe it is the shooter of the year????? Can the off the shelf or trad hunter shooters get into this ??????? or is it just RU . It used to be that the RU shot 35 yards to get them ready for this ,but now that we all shoot the kiddy stakes ,they should have the same right?????? What ever it may be please get it in the rules and then we shall know .

We WILL establish some solid parameters for the 3-DI team for the future ASAP. We want it competitive. Better the competition, the better the team.
There are three disciplines on a team, compound, recurve barebow and traditional longbow.
A country can send up to three shooters for each discipline, both men and women.
For the finals the team captain selects the individual from each discipline for the finals. They shoot the final round from scratch.
Distances are 50 meters for compound and 30 meters for barebow and traditional longbow.
Other rules are basically IBO derivitive. You can review them on the FITA web site.

Here in Europe and in particular here in Italy we hope that the USA Squad will be the best and most complete as possible.
Ifaa and Fita politician wait for a non good event next May for put the 3D International on a corner.
3DInternational will be the most similar IBO organization here in Europe, we hope that all will go to the best event ever in Europe.
Please take all the best possibility.
Bowpro, the maximum distance is 45 meters (ca 50 yds).
