i spoke with the head guy for the IBO and he said that he will look into the matter and if they are indeed shooting out ouf class they will be DQ but i bet that dont happen because he already has their money and wants them to come back again so this is a losing battle i guess ,i just need to vent, and let everyone know how i feel about the IBO and how they run things NOT VERY WELL.[:@]

3dsteve - An open shooter can change classes if they want, there is not anything in the rules that states other wise. They do have to change their equipment to the specifications of the Hunter Class if that is where they move too.
Now if a semi or Pro is shooting in open that's another story. If they have shot as a pro or semi earlier this season (for example - the ASA in Florida) they can NOT shoot in open with IBO.
What class did you shoot in?

If an open shooter wishes to shoot in the hunter class and shoots legal equipment for that class then he shold be allowed to do just that. I have never shot ASA and just beginning to shoot IBO, but have run into the same argments in our Bowhunter's of Alabama shoots. You can only regulate what equipment a person shoots. If you want to have a true novice class and can keep it that way please let me know how you do it. I have shot with world champions and novices alike and enjoyed both winning and learning from a loss. Isn't that what archery is about anyway?

This is my saying:
"You get what you put in and people get what they deserve"
I believe in that. Others know who's out there sandbagging and besides they have to look in the mirror every day. So if they can live with it........

Hey 3dsteve, do you really think that a pro or semi pro would jeopardize his or her sponsorship(s) just to shoot in the open class? We just came home from a wonderful shoot, Bennetts Archery and all of the volunteers did a outstanding job for their first time holding the first leg of the Southern Triple Crown!! It was a good range that Dan Hart and the staff put together, kept you thinking all the time, great job! all ready looking forward to next years shoot. As far as this pro, semi- pro thing, their BLUE stake was often placed with the open(ORANGE) stake or very near to it! I had pro's all around me this weekend and never saw them shooting from the wrong stake! In fact it was enjoyable to have them on our ranges, what other sport can you participate in while along side pro's? Lets all try looking at things in a positive manner.

sad to say, but with the team shoot paying back so well, some folks felt the need to drop back down to shoot in different classes to get the cash.
the hunter class as well as open are not based on ability, but equipment as stated above. anytime you involve money people will take the easy route. in rome ga. there is 10,000 dollars up for grabs. do you think people are going to give themselves any disadvantages? team up with a pro, and two good open shooters, one of which is changing his equipment and shooting in the hc. think about it. shooting 35 yard max, paired with a good pro who shoots 12 or 14 up, hc sandbagger shooting 15 to 18 up, and the open shooter shooting 6 to 10 up, thats a pretty good run at the money......check the hc scores and see if any names are familiar. might be surpised. a former triple crown mbr shooter, 2 years ago, a former female pro shooter, money folks, money.......
i will continue to shoot in the mbo and take my beatings with pleasure and pride, and naturally an empty wallet.....

Keath,
Thats a good ideal to move down to HC!!!
Not to say i would win!!
But might have a better chance at the team $$$$$$$$$$
My team at AL. had
Allen Conners PMR 415
Bart Lawhorn MBO 401
Brian Smith MBR 416
1232 total score. not even close to make the team shoot
a 1250 was in first and ended up winning it.
