Default IBO/ The new ENRON????

When the people at the top think they can screw the little guys and laugh all the way to the bank, it will eventually catch up to them. The IBO has NOT been listening to its members for years , why listen now?? There are some great ideas by members on these threads, very logical and sound, especially about starting on thursdays, changing locations, etc., but lo and behold even though Ken will read them(MAYBE ) there will be no populas vote in this orginaztion. Besides,we will just be (and I quote) " like a bunch of cattle" ; and just do as he says!!

[]Lets tar and feather Ken, and then the new guy that takes over will make everybody mad also. The things I heard about our last ruler was just as bad. All because they have to make decisions. The shooters that got to shoot Sunday were happy. The ones that won the world were happy. In a perfect world NASCAR doesn' t have rain, and archery' s perfect world there would be no fog and lightning at shoots. Live erery day as it is your last and shoot every target the same way. Then maybe you would be in sunday' s shoot!I' m just sorry I didn' t get to see Judy. [:-]

FYI I was one of the lucky ones that got to shoot on Sunday but that hasn' t kept me from voicing how I feel about the situation and how it was handled.

I have heard several complaints from the hunter class that the stakes were set over 35 yard max. ,and averaged 33 yard, that is pretty bad but even worse the stakes on the senior class being over 45 and average of 43 yards.
Why set limits if you don' t stay within them and why set so many at such long yardage- a bowhunter takes short shots too.

Some Ideas to Stew on... Move the shoot down the mountain and still hold the Best of the Best, Eagle Eye, FBH, Practice Bails, and McKenzie Shoot Out on top of the mountain (Skidder Slope). OK then have snowshoe (if they want to keep this shoot they should respond willingly) HAVE MORE BUSES! to shuttle every one down the Mountain to the ranges. And since moving the ranges down the mountain will help. You can move the Defense Ranges on top to create a little more room for the ranges. Snowshoe has plenty of room down the mountain for the ranges to hold this shoot. Then last but not totally least important, HAVE MORE RANGES!!! If you have more ranges then if there is a problem that delays the shoot then you will have flexibility to set up a 1:00 pm start and still finish. I am not as pissed as some of the folks on here because I suck at these shoots but I like 90% of the others who never make it to Sunday do like to come up there and fling arrows. I also like to get my moneys worth!!! I was mostly dissapointed in the unpreparedness of the IBO officials...

Finally someone with some sense. Thanks VorTecX. Additionally a shotgun start would help the situation. The only problem with that is the way they lay out the course. Is there any reason why we have to walk so far between targets? I know there are safety concerns but more thought could be put into it.

Highbow, after the first two legs of the triple crown this year the web site was pounded with complaints about the courses being to short, Now they are to long and to tough. I do not agree with Ken all the time but how can he win, to short then it' s to long?????????????????????? Shoot straight Bill

I debated the shotgun start idea with an asa friend, basically there are two problems, IBO courses are not conducive to it, they are walk through to keep you with an out in the woods feeling, not within site of lots of people.

According to this ASA friend, you can put about 1000 or so folks on a 20 target course shotgun started, two starts a day. Well at least the the IBO worlds that leaves you with another 1000 or so archers to fit somewhere. they run start times every 10 minutes from about 7AM to around 3 PM, that' s to many people for two shotgun starts.

It would be a rather radical philosophy change, one I would hate. I haven' t shot the ASA walk down the path type of course, but I like the isolation feeling of the IBO course.
