11 ring scoring Pro/Con
 

I talked to Kenny Watkins and he told me that he has had almost all good responce regarding the 11 ring scoring. Everyone I talk to hates it. A shooter at Erie shot a perfect 400 and ended up in fourth place. If you take away the 11 ring the people shooting the most tens are not placing where they should. I would just like to know what everyone else thinks.

i like it for the simply fact, if you do make bad shot you got in the back of your mine i can make those points back up. keeps your head in the game.

11 ring sucks,if you make a bad shot you should lose,cant make them up when your hunting. its just another asa offshoot we dont need it.

I think the 11 ring is a good idea. i agree if you make a bad shot you should lose but I also think if you make a good shot you should also be awarded for that shot.

I like the extra point for making a better shot than the next guy!!!!
That should get it started. With all due respect, the 11 ring has realy cut down on all the ties. I can recall having ten or more people in the top three spots, thats just in one class. That was a mess when it came down to shootoffs at the end of every shoot. I talk to alot of people at the shoots, and have not had that come up as a complant. The only thing I hope is that this rule will stay in place and not go by the way side like the 12' s did.

I like the 11 rings, I haven' t heard any negative talk about it.

whats wrong with ties? i like to see shootoffs thats where the realy good shooters
shine. lets take it a step farther and put a 15 inside the 11 where do we stop.
a bad shot in a bad shot,EGO is why there is an 11,lets get that score as high as
we can even if we drop a few fives.

Philip have you ever stayed long enough at a national event to watch a shootoff ?
In the past sitting at Nelsonville waiting my turn I could look around and see maybe 100 to 150 people hanging to watch people shoot!!! I love to shootoff, that means I am in the show (at least for that day). But when you have to travel 100' s of miles that night so you can go to work the next day, you wish that you shot that other 11 so you could get on down the road. Thats why I like 11' s, it makes things go alot easier..Oh yea by the attendence at the shootoffs it shows that everyone else wants to get on down the road too. (IMO)

I like counting the extra point,but I don' t know if I like using them as tie breakers.If two people shoot 400 I don' t see why the one with 6 11' s and 3 8' s would be better than the one who shot 40 10' s.

I like the 11 rings, you get credit for making a great shot. If you have 2 shooter competing and one hits a jar licker 10 ring and the other hits a center 10 the second shooter has made a better shot, thus he gets an extra point. The 11 ring is GOOD!:)[&:]:D
