DOES ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA OF THE FORMAT FOR THIS QUALIFIER AT MCKEAN? I WOULD LIKE TO AT LEAST TRY IT, BUT WAS WONDERING HOW MANY ARROWS TO TAKE WITH ME, HOW MANY SHOTS (WITH HAZARDS & TOTAL), AND JUST GENERALLY WHAT TO EXPECT? THANKS BUTCHB.

We are not doing the qualifier, the ATA staff is operating the event. I have seen it shot and the shooters used up to 6 arrows. It was fun to play.
Lots of pressure. Time and accuracy. Punch strong!

THANKS KEN, IF ITS ONE THING I CAN DO IS PUNCH IT, I MAY HAVE TO WORK ON THE ACCURACY THING THOUGH, AND I DO LIKE TO SHOOT FAST. ANY IDEA OF WHAT THE YARDAGES ARE LIKE, IF IM NOT MISTAKEN, IT IS ALSO AN UNKOWN DISTANCE? ANY LITTLE BIT OF INPUT WOULD REALLY HELP.

I shot a practice round at the one in TN. I looked for a score card that I pilfered but could not find it. So here goes the general format off the top of my head... which is poor quality at best.

The first station is the William Tell Station. Two apples appear at 20 yds and you shoot one off the peg with about 5 seconds of shooting time. Then the apples disappear. You reload and shoot the second apple when it reappears with about 3 seconds of shooting time.

The next station is 25 yards. you have 3 or 4 dots that you shoot from top to bottom. Once you have hit all the dots you shoot a plate that allows an arm to swing down.

Then you have the Bermuda Triangle which moves left to right and then right to left. You shoot at two dots one about 3" and one about 5" . This one is fast paced. It is shot at 30 yards.

Then there is thread the needle which is four 4" (I think) dots that you shoot from top to bottom at 40 yards in only 30 seconds.

The last station is a stop and go deal. You put an arrow and your bow in the real Bo-Tree (not bowtree) at 20 yards and an arrow in another Bo-Tree at 30 yards. You run to the 20 yard station and shoot a dot and then run to 30 load another arrow and shot again.

Hopefully I did not miss a station. Hope this helps.

I just shot this yesterday.Everything above was accurate except the moving target was only 25 yards.
It was really fun to do,but my Trophy taker spring steel sucks for it.The best would be a muzzy zero effect,so your arrow doesn' t keep falling off when your trying to draw so fast.
We talked to Randy Hendricks for a while,and he had a bow set up specifically for these games.He had a tiger tuff type rest with the prong extended clear over to the riser on one side so all he had to do was tilt his bow over,nock an arrow,then draw it back while he leveled the bow.There was no way the arrow could jump or fall off the rest.
He also had pins on the sides of his scope so he could aim dead center on the moving targets.He doesn' t use a string loop either,so he can just snap the release right on the bow.
We watched him shoot the possible high of 54.
There was only one other person who even broke 30 and that was Rod White with a 42.
I had a blast,even got lucky on my last round and shot a 27.
