SUGARCREEK ARCHERY…. A beautiful, club maintained, public archery range has been closed. If you have ever gotten the opportunity to shoot there you know what will be lost. We understand why it was temporarily closed, and we have been trying to get information about when and if it will reopen. Have not gotten any answers. We are asking you, our fellow bowhunters to help. If you know the park and want to lend a hand, Contact the park, ask about it. We miss it.

I was sorry to here it was closed . I' ll send an email. What was the ' real' reason they shut it down?I' ve heard rumors of the horse people complaining about not being able to ride the area to an old bear fiberglass arrow found in a persons yard. Hope they get it resolved soon, it' s a really nice course.

I have been intouch with the park.....All I got is " The case is being looked into" .
I' ve talked with Jack from Surgarcreek Archery Shop and he says " it maybe awhile before any decision will be made, till then the range is closed" .
If I get any new info.....I will pass it on to you all.

The Archery Range was closed because someone found an arrow in their yard. This " arrow" has yet to be seen by an archer... [:@][:@][:@]
the archery range has been in place since 1955, the home that found the " arrow" is less than 10 years old. Please keep the emails, we need answers. Talked to the park ranger David Nash, he said" the director is waiting to hear from the archery club as to what the archery club is going to do to make the range safe for neighbors... Well, Mr. Nash neglected to tell the archery club that as they have been waiting to hear what the parks want them to do.....[X(]
Mr Facilitator forgot to mention that.

Heard both rumors.....
........................WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE ARROW.......
The park is (was) used by archers about 100+ fold than the riders.
Who knows .We just don' t want them to slack on this and take for granted how important a well maintined FREE PUBLIC range is.
Thanks for the support.

No news as of yet... Please keep writing and emailing.. Noticed the Sugarcreek riding center got some new equipment. hope it' s not of sign of things to come.
I have still not seen the arrow. it could of been from years ago.
Remember all it takes is one to screww the rest of us. If anyone has any news please post!
a rumor I heard from my niece(a rider) is that people keep finding arrows in their yards. No dear, one arrow that an archer has yet to see was found.
And I live behind target 3 and nor I or my wife were called to go to the park called meeting. Hummmmm. We live closer than the neighbor that found the arrow.
A little bias going on there?
Call, Write, email.

Well doesn' t THAT suck. I was a member of Sugarcreek Archery for several years and the club did a lot of work to help maintain a free public course. I had some really good times shooting there. I live in CT now so it doesn' t directly affect me, but it really sucks. This isn' t going to be very good for Jack' s shop, either, which also sucks wind.
I hope it reopens soon.

How many archery ranges?
Good bye to
50 years,
