Sounds like everybody is making up their own rules when it comes to misfires. This is why it needs to be clarified in writing in the rule book. As Ken has said, if the arrow was propelled intentionally or unintentionally,it's a shot and is scored as it lies . This covers all the what ifs and puts everybody on the same playing field.

Once again,if the string propels the arrow. IT IS SHOT.
That is the only decision left to the discretion of the group.
If the arrow falls from the string or the nock pops it forward and can be recovered from the stake(while touching the stake) it can be shot.

Let's just make the rule to say no let downs, period. Once you draw the bow back, you must release it. In 4 years I never have let down, maybe I'm strange or something?????
