My 8 yr old son got an invite to Snow Shoe yesterday in the mail. He shot cubs in Rome. What are the qualifiers that he met to ge the invite? He didn't shoot that well but I was very happy as he was shooting at a much greater range than he generally shoots in the club shoots. I bumped him up so he could shoot the course with me.
Thanks,
Bob

I just found the stips. Top 20. He only had about 10 shooters in the class.
Second question. If he goes and I don't qualify is there an open shoot or is it only qualified shooters to shoot the course?
Thanks again

There are basicly (2) different shoots at the World. There is a money class that requires a shooter to qualify for and there is a trophy class that you need to preregister for. Your son will shoot a different course weither you shoot the money or the trophy class. The Snowshoe World experience is worth the money and time for both you and your son. There is plenty to do for the hole family. Most people I know make the trip a family vacation. I hope you decide to make the trip to Snowshoe. If you decide to shoot in the trophy class shoot call the IBO office for a registration form. Hope to see you in Snowshoe.

i agree that you could shoot the world trophy and not have to qualify, but i wouldnt preregister until i had shot a few qualifiers, especially local ones. it is hard to qualify at the national shoots, but the local qualifiers may not have the number of participants. i hope you get the opportunity to take your son and yourself to snowshoe. it is an incredible site to host an archery tournament, especially when the weather cooperates.
judy may post a response here, but i think you can register for the trophy round until either the class is full, or late in july.

Bob, look me up in Pensacola this weekend. My wife and I are going to try and shoot all 40 if possbile. You can enter the advanced bowhunter class at pensacola and have a good shot at getting an invitation for yourself as well. If not then Autauga County is going to host a world qualifier I believe in May or June. It is the last qualifier for the world's at Snowshoe. This may be the last year foe Snowshoe and I must agree with the other two posts that it is a great vacation for the family. We have been the last two years and it is a great 5 days that we take off and spend up there. You will have a great time I guaruntee it! The people are great and the terrain is like nothing you will ever shoot in around south Alabama or northwest Florida. See you on Friday!

I missed the cut by 6 in Wetumpka so maybe I will get in the groove tomorrow in Pensacola. I wasn't paying attention when I registered in Wetumpka and I shot the regular HC rather than the advanced. I think I have to stay with the HC now that I have shot Wetumpka and Rome.
Danny, see ya in the morning.
