I belive that the people working the shoots are doing a good job, but they could use a little more training. I personally saw 3 different groups, all with the same team shirts on, shooting together at Bedford. As far as protesting go's, how are you going to file when you don't know what the persons name is. A few years ago, at Bedford, I saw a shooter get his equipment checked. He was in the hunter class and he had two stabilizers. The range official checked his arrow weight and poundage and sent him on his way. I told the official about the problem and he ask what his name was. I told him I did'nt know and pointed him out to the official. He said that without his name there was nothing he could do. Maybe we could have numbers or some other form of ID on a back tag. Rules are hard to enforce unless you happen to know, or can ID, everybody personally.

The title of the thread is a little off base. Well, more than a little.
Groups are broken. That is procedure. Can a mistake be made. Yes. Does it happen, sometimes.
Policy is that if another shooter is added to a group it is considered broken. We have seen an effort by a few shooters to "arrange " that they shoot together. We are aware of this and will do all that we can to clean up the situation.
You can help as well. If you are at a check station, volunteer to join one of these groups. You guys are mostly pretty experienced in the game. You know what is going on. Many of you know the folks in question. No big arguments or finger pointing, just help out. Heck, you probably will have a good time.
See you all in PA.

How can a "TEAM"all shoot together, all wearing the same shirts,NOT be broken up?I have heard from some of the guys that shot at Bedford, and seen a group in the Hunter Class wearing the same shirts, shooting together, then one guy takes his shirt off, turns it inside out,so no one would notice? He knew they shouldn't be shooting together as a group according to the I.B.O. Rule's.

Fellow Archers
It is strange that the protest is being made here on the forum and yet no one made mention of it at the boothe when they were starting a new 10 targets so that the appropiate people could be informed and maybe take action to bust the groups in question.
The number of post here by unhappy individuals is very small (5 Individuals expressing concern about the rule) compared to the number who are reading the post and having no response. At the ranges that we shot we shot with two individuals who shot another class and we split the score keeping. If there is a feeling that there is a group or groups that are not following the rules and may be bending the rules to attain a win or higher position in the final standings than the individuals that have a question have a responsiblility to point out the rules that are not being followed and to question anyone that they think may be posting scores that are not right. Hearsay should never be repeated here on the forum for hundreds to read and form an opinion about. If there is a rotten apple in the barrel then lets find it and do our best to keep more from getting in. If a shoot with a very large number of shooters has only one or even 10 complaints about something being done that effects a large number of people's score by changing the final standings it should be their responsibility to make the complaint known at the time that the infringement of the rules is observed. Making complaints after the fact on the forum only bring many more people into something that they have no knowledge of or any reason to form a favorable opinion of the organizational operating procedures. If persons have a question that involves rules or procedures of the club or IBO the first step should be to contact the personel in the IBO office for a resolution of the problem or directions of whom to contacct at the club leve. If no satisfaction can be obtained by either of these organizations then it is time to look for support on the forum after stating the complete problem and the parties that have been contacted and have given you no solution or satisfactory answer.
Rules are made for everyone and individulas opinions are just that individuals opinion which may be shared by many, which often help educate others and change rules and procedures.

Did you point out the rules and the fact that you thought they were missing your point if you knew that there was a problem? Everyone is responsible for knowing the rules but it is very easy to not know the people in every group and make some mistakes. The most imoportant thing is that we are all supposed to be trusted as archers playing a game. If there are people that have bad intentions and want to win at any cost lets get rid of the trouble makers. If we can't trust one another what is next lie detectors and sworn statements that we are who we say we are. As usual there are a few people that may want to do it their way and not follow the rules. These are the people that are causing a decline in numbers on the net and in the field. If the rules are being broken then file a protest and let the violations be heard but lets quit crying over every little thing that we say is wrong but are unwillling to tell the people responsible at the time of the occurance.

hey, cheaters are going to cheat no matter what the ibo or local clubs do but when they get to the worlds they quickly fall back in the group and they didn't gain a thing. the hosting clubs are to follow the rules if they don't inform the ibo as to the rule book file the protest it's only $25.

all im saying is you guys are throwing a fit about an extra limbsaver stopping a string making a rule change anouncement this close to the 2nd jewel, when the real problems with the IBO such as the groups being busted is not addressed i just think that its a little rediculous, its like the local cops in my town that are busting 16 year old kids for loitering in a parking lot with there friends while the other 16 year old kids are at the local pool hall selling drugs but they drive right by there and never go in it just doesnt make sense
