Default WV Hunters to pay more!!

Well Mountain Boys it looks like the price of hunting in the Mountain State is going up. Sportmans Package is going to go from $25.00 to $33.00 and your extra deer tags will go up $5.00.

I read a story that WV will not be issuing doe tags in several counties. Anyone else heard that?

Great.. I can see the posts next year... "I payed more money to sit in the woods and see nothing! I'm boycotting WV..PA has been boycotted last year because I want to shoot anything..Thank god MD is between us"

Sorry guys, I'm just on a rampage lately about the griping about deer numbers.. Has everyone forgot the massive blizzard we got 2 years ago? Almost 4' of snow has GOT to kill ALOT of deer!!!

It is their first raise in 10 years or so, so it's not like it wasn't coming.

The non-res licenses are going up $10, tags up $5, and extra tags are now $40.

It ain't stopping me...Hell, I pay around $150 to hunt as a RESIDENT in Ohio, and that's only for 3 deer and a couple turkerys.

JoshKeller,

Nice talking to you in the chat room last night. The bad mast/bad winters coincided with liberal doe seasons. The DNR just needs to be flexible and not set limits based on deer numbers last season, but also considering how bad the previous winter was on the deer too. The bad winters knocked the herd back quite a bit, and it seems like that wasn't considered as doe seasons and bag limits were expanded.

I'm glad I bought my WV lifetime hunting and fishing license and trout stamp back in 1989. I still spend 30 or 40 dollars for all the extra tags though but I think it's still a bargain.

sounds like a heck of a price to me. I think the Resident fees in most states are a FRACTION of what they are worth.

It's still a bargain with all the meat you can collect.....(too much so IMO)

That's so true. Even here in PA.
