Glad to see at least one other MA hunter out there.
Hunted Zone 2 all day Saturday w/ 3 other guys. I saw nothing, one from our group glimpsed 2 deer. Scouted another area in zone 3 Sunday..off course I saw a doe, I wasn't hunting. (Have permit for zone 3) Was driving home and saw an 8 point buck and a doe on the southern end of our hunting area behind a house. Oh the irony....

I shot a nice 4 pointer opening morning. Gave a doe a haircut too. My father in law took a spike that afternoon off the same stand. Another guy w/ us got a spike on a drive that day. This passed Friday my father in law got a nice doe and then I drove a big doe to his best friend. She ended weighing in at 140lb!!! This is all in zone 3.
I have seen 12 does in zone 2, but I only have 1 doe tag for that area and I have been eyeing one very large buck there. I hope he is still around! I will use the doe tag during muzzleloader season.

Yeah... both spots I have been hunting this season are private. I have a couple other places that are private that I will hit later this week and over the course of muzzleloader season.
Good luck to you. Keep me posted on how you make out. I'm gonna sneak out again this afternoon and again Thursday afternoon.

Shotgun season has been going pretty good down here in zone 11. I filled a doe tag on the afternoon of opening day. Then this past saturday I set up two guys on a property I hunt hoping to get them a shot, and as usual the deer come to me. I shot a basket rack 6 point at 7:30 saturday, then I pushed the property for my friends trying to get things stirred up. One guy got a shot at a doe I kicked up and missed, the other had one coming to him but no shot opportunities. Will be taking thursday off of work and then hitting it again on saturday, good luck out there!

So I headed back to hunt Wed-Sat this past week. I hunted zone 2 again Wed afternoon. No luck. So me and my buddy head up to our zone 3 spot we had confirmed permission to hunt in. We go to see the two brothers who own this land. The brother who said it was OK was out of town and the other brother decided to say NO!! We where very dissapointed. Not only had we been denied, but we lost a good morning of hunting driving up there!!
We hunted around the bad weather the rest of the week in Zone 2 without seeing any deer at all!! Combo of still hunting and stand sitting depending on conditions. At least my buddy saw a black bear at 25 yards.
Hopefully next year will be better. This was my worst season ever

this was only my second season, and I must say I saw more deer last season. I dont kno whats going on but im sad! I cant complain tho because I did harvest a 140 pound doe opening day of shotgun. I dont kno whats goin on with the deer, I walk for miles and dont even jump any? Last year I never tried to walk around and jump em, but I did by accident like 3 times!
