My wishes to all the fellow Southern NY hunters.
First and foremost...Good Luck! Make sure you get a big one!
Just as important...
----------------------------------------------------------
May you:
Enjoy your time in the woods,
Take in the comraderie of friends and family,
Watch the dawn light break 15ft off the ground,
Listen to the sounds of nature,
Help drag a deer with a fellow hunter,
Shoot straight and let your aim be true,
Take in that deep breath of the freshest air on earth,
Start or continue a tradition,
Realize and value all that we are provided with.
-Amen.
-----------------------------------------------------------
PS. If you come across a young or new hunter, make sure you take the time to teach him or her. Nothing will last more in their memories, especially that first day in the woods, or the first successful hunt.
PSS. Just as important, value those who are still lucky enough to share in our presence. You never know when it might be the last time you go afield with them, or see them take a trophy.
