Default NY Southern Zone!!

The season is a week old now how's everyone doing? Activity increasing? Seeing a lot of deer during the day? Anyone get anything yet?
Ive seen lots of smaller bucks and does, but nothing earthshattering during the day yet. Seems like scrape and rub activity have really taken off the last few days. Hopefully the weather will stabilize a little bit. Good Luck to everyone.

I hunted opening day (last Fri.) , Saturday and Sunday and didnt see a deer! I will be out this afternoon and tomorrow. Hopefully the activity has picked up this past week.

Haven't you been reading the other posts on NY's deer population......there are no deer!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't seen much. hunted 1st 3 days and this am. I saw a small deer running and a nice 6 snuck up on me (at 12 yds!!) when I was on the ground hunting. Had a bunch of turkeys around me this am. Hope things pick up in next few weeks.

I saw more sign today that last week. Had a nice doe sneak up on me from behind while hunting a food plot from a box blind-I was watching the wrong way!

Also I had a first, had a small Black Bear come within 20 yards just before dark. I have seen the tracks and finally actually saw the bear. Not a common sighting in the Mohawk Valley!

I'm seeing more deer in Jersey than NY.I hunt in callicoon center and saw 5-6 deer in 3 outings,I think the locals are living off them all year around.

I've been out 3 days so far and only managed to see one doe, which I was lucky enough to take, but still no horns in my sights.
