We moved into our first home in June. I finally saw my first New Jersey black bear. Yesterday evening (before dark) I was walking in the tiny lot of woods adjacent to our backyard gathering some firewood (and picking up some old beer bottles). 25 yards ahead I saw a small black bear walking away from me. I got the heck out of there and retreated in the opposite direction in case "mom" was around.

This bear was either a baby or a small adult. Hard (almost impossible) to determine.

When do the permits become available?

Where do you live ? I see about 2 a month in my yard .I live in Sparta/Andover

Right by J&J Archery off of Route 15. I guess they come down from you along Rt. 15 and from Malhone-Dickerson.

Where you hunting this year ? I'll be in zone 6 in back of my house,zone 5 Great Meadows/Independence TWP & zone 9 in Bernardsville?

They are available but not through the Division. Campbell is holding the printing up.
