ok, now that i have your attention, i was on the way to a job today in Jefferson, n.h., when i had it cross the road in front of me. i've seen/shot coyotes before, so i know it was too big to be one of them. put it this way, when it first caught my eye, i thought it was a deer because of the size, untill it was completely in the road, plus it had a really nice, blackish coat with a silver tint to it. i live 80 miles from that place, so i asked the homeowner and one of the locals that works for us, if they had heard or seen one and both have seen them in the area. and then the local that works for us said that he has also seen a mountain lion, and a warden had confirmed it, so how come we don't hear about these critters from the N.E. fish and game departments? you know, the ones that everyone but the commisseners and biologists see? anyone else seen them in N.H.?

Theres plenty of land up there, thats for sure. My dads buddy had a place in Jefferson. Nice area.
Theres been lion sightings around here and with moose on the CT shore line I'd believe anything!

I spend pleanty of my time in the NH mountains and I have never crossed a wolf or mountain lion. It wouldn't suprise me in the north country though. There are plenty of woods for them to hide in.
