Default Deer hunting in MD

I recently moved to MD in the Bel Air area (Harford County). I was buying a PA out of state license to hunt, but that is getting expensive so Ive looked into hunting in MD. Does anyone know much about hunting Prettyboy Watershed area? If not, is there any other public land near Bel Air. Im willing to travel.

Inverno,

You might want to check the other threads (Md hunters please vote place to have a hunt ) These guys are putting together a hunt for MD. They may have the answers for you.

I dont know a whole lot about public land in that area. If your looking to drive west a little bit I know of a good bit of public land. If your interested in info on the west/central part of the state send me a PM. There are some other guys from your area on here that could help you out some more.

Inverno,

Make sure to check the MD DNR website. It's a good starting point for info regarding public land hunting. It should at least direct you to a specific point of contact i.e. Patapsco State Park or local DNR WMA office. Go the extra mile and contact these folks. You would be surprised at what you can find! Regarding Pretty Boy... can't help you there, but if it is like Liberty you just have to put the time in (scouting) to get on deer.

Good Luck,

You can also bow hunt in an archery only section of Rock's State Park. It's not too bad during the week and I've seen some nice ones come out of there. It's close to Bel Air.

Elk Neck State Park in Cecil county is about a 20 min. drive up 95 from you. Bow hunting only, I think you have to purchase a stamp for a few dollars to hunt there but worth it.
