I was courted by a couple of members recruiting at a local outdoor show. I was thinking about joining because I have been arechery hunting since 1982. The problem was that they came off as very anti-gun hunter and that turned me off. Maybe that was just their opinion and not that of the whole organization but it still soured me.

BarnesX.308, don't let that stop you from joining the UBP. It's a great org and does more than you could know. I had a problem years back with a couple UBP members/higher ups that were anti compound....but that was their opinion and not the opinion of the UBP so don't let a couple arrogants spoil it for the bunch......join when you can.

I also have encountered a wee bit of the elitist sentiment within the UBP but most are good guys that love archery but also hunt with firearms.
