Slim...Ours was not good. We heard a couple birds...but they were just randomly gobbling. We did have a jake show interest, but even he hung up and left.

Had a ball...but the birds didn't cooperate. We did find enough mushrooms for a mess or two.

There is a WV hunting forum at

http://www.wvweb.com/www/hunting/index.html

Most reports indicate not much gobbling and not many bagged...

Pro......I know approx...where you are in Braxton and here in Roane the Gobblers have been going nuts....although it has been quiet the past several days. Dry and warm.....which is good. Good Luck if you go up this week end!

I managed to bag a 24.75 lber with 1 3/16 spurs and a 9.5 inch beard in Morgan county where I live. The bird population seems to have just exploded in the eastern panhandle in the last few years. Before the birds henned up I was seeing groups of 10 to 15 Toms and Jakes on a daily basis right out my backdoor. I saw just this morning 2 hens already on the nest.

Some of the toms I have seen this year are just huge!

Seems like most of the private land isnt hunted that hard for turkey... Now If I could just get my neighbors to stop poaching all the bucks in July....
