Default Leaving Tomorrow

For two days of hunting with my son a buddie of his and the kids father. I know some of you are against youth hunts, but were off.

We'll be camping in an 11,000 acre WMA. Taking some venison filets and roasts I saved for a special occasion. Hopefully filming a couple 13 yr.old getting their first birds. My son hunted last year. This will be his buddies first Turkey hunt.

This will be our first time hunting this land, but we've done alot of scouting and have found some very promising area's. We down loaded some maps from the topo zone and started exploring this place about a month ago.

If they didn't have the "Youth hunt" would I still have hunted Turkey with my son? Sure I would. What it did was give us even more of a reason to do something special

Charlie,

Sounds like you will be having some fun. The weather might be wet tonight, thunderstorms, and dry through Sunday evening and Monday, when we might get some more rain. That is the weather in the Poconos.

Let us know how you do....

Tom

I wish you folks the best of luck. Even if you do not get a bird I am sure it will be a thoroughly enjoyable experience. What area are you hunting in?

The WMA lies between Tompkins and Schylur counties in NY about 6 miles outside of Ithaca.

I haven't been as psyched for a hunt in years. My wife just keeps shaking her head at me, and laughing.

Just got a big pot of Chili on the stove to take with us. I'm ready.
