RE: Rifle in NY?

Shotguns are dangerous. Rifles are dangerous at a longer distance. Contact my buddy, Randy, at Tar-Hunt.com and he will give you the skinny on slugs and slug guns. He got me started hunting with them. I use my pump in Maine with great success. It's an area where you are lucky to see 100 feet ahead of you. Just right for slugs. We generally get our deer inside of 25 yards. In Pa. around my cabin, the longest shot I ever taken on a deer was less than 75 yards. I still love my rifles for varmints, elk, moose and caribou.

Good hunting!

Charlie P,
You are just the type of person that I would expect to get the 'clap'from.
I notice that you,and the other 4 Anti's,have no Profile.
An educated guess would be that none of you are real New Yorkers. You may be TRolls, but you certainly are not like any New York Hunter that I have ever seen.
I am well aware of the dangers associated with hunting.I.too,have heard the sound of a bullet that had to be close. But the only time that I was actually shot by a Hunter,it was with a shotgun.
Most,if not all, acccidents with firearms are caused by carelessness.I respect everyone's opinion, but you will never get me to believe that people become more careless if they are allowed to hunt with a rifle.
Frank

And to think you topped your most ignorant statement that quickly!! wow.

franke,

E=mc2!!!!!!!! In other words. The longer a projectile is traveling in the air, thus the more time it has to inflict injury. compicated??

Show me where I said anything anti, make sure you don' try and twist something I said when I was obviosly joking either.

You know I was just thinking, Vestal wasn't on the original list of area's that was supposed to go to rifle. (I actually read the bill Franke how about you) but I should push for it to go rifle. That way in a seson or two most of the land owners around here would stop gun hunting on their properties and I could get more land to bow hunt on. ;):D[&:]

Our town is already so parnoid about gun hunting that they went with a 1000 ft rule from any occupied dwelling. This might be thing that turns it into a bow only zone.

RE: Rifle in NY?

who said that just because you hunt with a rifle means you become more careless??
Simple Fact - rifle bullets travel farther, therefore, more risk where there are not as many natural bullet stoppers.

By the way the only REAL NY is Upstate NY!!!!
