there was a bill (or somethin) last year that would have allowed rifle in the southern tier
it either was never voted on or the vote failed or vetoed (or somethin)
as much as I would like to use my rifle in the southern tier, it is probably best & safest if it is left for the mountain regions

mtair,
I hear you there friend. We all know that's not the case though. I've seen some of these yahoos(no one here in particular). When the flags go up they just let the lead fly. That's why I stay away from public land whenever possible. It can get real dangerous at times. It's not worth it!

I hope they leave the Rifle areas to strictly the Mountain Regions. There are enough Yahoos out there with semi-auto shotguns cranking off 5 shot bursts. I would hate to be in the woods with a bunch of hunters with rifles ! If a hunter can't get within 100 yards of a deer, he/she shouldn't be out there and a shotgun will take a deer at that range.

bucknrut17, i see your point about public land . i never have hunted public land .i shot my first deer way back when with a shotgun . and honestly i have never shot a deer over 120 yards away . but i still love my rifles.
