WV Total Deer Kill...
The total kill was released today. It was 204,000. That's 50,000 less than last year. There were over 83,000 antlerless deer killed in the 22 day season.
The statement in the article seems to hint that there will continue to be "liberal" antlerless seasons. I sure as hell hope the DNR knows what they're doing. We say a lot less deer on our 400 acres...but our county (Braxton) killed over 6,000 deer. Maybe the deer are onto us...LOL

RE: WV Total Deer Kill...
No. It would seem that they are trying to drop numbers drastically so that they can institute a pt restriction...but nothing has been said.
My worry is the 9 deer limit. Not only that, but 5 of the 9 can be bucks. If some moron kills a couple button bucks on top of that, then they can theoretically take more than 5 bucks out of the population in a single hunting season.
I don't mind the fewer deer that much. It does allow more for the remaining deer to eat. I just don't want fewer bucks as well.

I'm with you all the way. Seems to me that license sales would increase when there are more and bigger bucks running around, regardless of whether you can only take one or two bucks.
