Dream Hunt

I go to pike co., illinois every year, and that is my pick. I don`t use an outfitter. I have taken some good bucks there. My buddies, who go with me every year have taken some huge bucks! I am sure that there are other places that are every bit as good as where I go, but I am already in a great whitetail spot, so I`ll stick it out.

I'd like an outfitter tell me a large area of land that has a big buck. Let me scout, let me pick a tree, and let me go get him. And If I don't? Then I tried. My most memorable hunts have been the ones where I'm in a brand new, never set eyes upon location, scout, get the "gut feeling" of a stand site, then connect on a nice deer. Bow-only of course. To me, that's a high.

Well I did Iowa many times, awsome buck with weird mass on antlers, did missouri,Ill, But after spending 1000's of hours on this puter and talking all over, the hot spot is Kansas right now.So I quess Kansas for one of them massive ,bumpy triple brow tined ,full of kickers and drop tines. The more twisted and weird the better, palmation cranks my noodle also. You all can have them typical boring bone heads. Canada is to cold to far and not enough deer per square mile for my dollar.

I would have to pick Canada from all the deer I have seen come from there,
not only the huge racks but body wise also.I know It would not be as many deer
as what I am seeing now,but the thrill of knowing a monster could be seen at anytime would be enough for me.

I've been to Ill twice now on a non-outfitter trip and scored on a nice 9pt and a 10 pt that sored 156. However, I agree with Cardeer in that KS seems to be the place to go and second would be IA. CAD seems pretty cool but the weather/sitting on bait/low deer density seems tough.

Hmmmm, I wouldn't want an outfitter at all so I can't answer the question as to which outfitter I would choose. I would love to go to Kansas for some big antlered deer, I would also love to go to Michigan in late spring for HUGE bodied deer. For a good mix of both worlds, I will stay here in Pennsylvania.
Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)
