Elevated? Do you think someone was sitting in a tree stand in early August, hunting bear? Or somebody shot it off their back deck? The latter sounds most likely.

This killing occurred in 2014 according to the article. I have read a few articles in the last few years where the PGC has snagged some illegal bear killers, hopefully this was one of them. Unfortunately, the illegal killing of bears is an all too common occurrence. Sometimes after some yahoo kills a bear illegally of this size and realized how much help they will need to retrieve the animal or skin it where it lays, they just leave it lay. In this case the bear was along a road when it died and not a good place to work on it.

Yeah, a bear isn't something you can just run off with. Especially one of that size.

My question was: was it someone trying to harvest a bear out of season? Or was it someone who decided to deal with a nuisance bear on their own terms? Either way, it's a pretty crappy thing to do.

I didn't realize this happened in 2014. Thought it was recent.

Yeah sorry guys. I saw this on my live streaming the other day and searched for it on the computer and posted. Still and all, it's a shame what this person did.
