Is this going up for a vote? If so, when? I hope we don't have enough commies in this state to defeat it, although I am afraid it may be too late!

You know what I know. No text is available yet, nor has a hearing date been set.

Text is now up. This could get interesting.
This bill will add a new Article 48 to the Maryland Constitution giving the citizens the right to keep and bear arms for the following reasons: Protection of Self, Family and Home. It will also make it clear that we will have the right to carry arms for hunting and recreational use.
Currently only Art.28 deals with firearms and it reads:
"That a well regulated Militia is the proper and natural defence of a free Government"
My post above is the link to the bill and here's a link to current Md's Constitution

I was completely unaware of this (maybe the media kept it hush-hush so the gun owners wouldn't have a chance to call their congressmen)! And that's what we need to do. Start calling, letter writing and getting the word out to fellow gun owners and hunters.

We need to get this passed without any changes.
How many groups would like to see the phrase "hunting and recreational use" dropped.

It is a crying shame that we are stuck with Gledingaling who is against guns and hunting. Next to us in Va. anyone with a clean record can get a permit to carry but in Md. only the criminals can carry guns. Because of this Md. has become #1 in robberies. The stickup boys from D.C. know they can rob people in Md. without worrying about getting shot like they would in Va. And when Glendingaling is finished we will get Kennedy Townsend as Gov. She is also against guns. The sad thing about Md. is that P.G. and montgomery county have a higher population than the whole rest of the state so they can sway all elections.
