UT OH, Bette call the PGC
#1
I was out looking for some coyotes this evening and came across a couple set of deer tracks. Better call the PGC and have them issue a few more thousand antlerless tags.

Uh, i know, nothing worse than having to chase deer away from my truck, every morning....so I can go to work, then the 6 (i call the breakfast crew)about .25 mile down from my place and the 3 that greet me gate at work. Don't you guys hate that? But some real hunters told me they were extinct or something.

Stapher..you must post your land or you neighbor does (or maybe no hunting is allowed)
C-rad: You're right. That's why I buy 2 doe tags every year and toss them.
All I hunt is public land. Last year I hunted 17 days in archery season - total deer seen = 2 One of which was an 8 pt that came home with me. Days without seeing a deer 15.
My friend hunted archery, rifle and late season flintlock. Did not see a single deer. And before you go blowing smoke, we've both hunted for over 40 years each and we know what we are doing.
It it my honest opinion that the deer herd in many areas of the state (public land) may have gotten to the point where it may be hard for them to sustain a population let alone make a comeback. I never thought I would say it - but thank God for posted land. At least those deer have a chance.

Bronko I agree with you. I hunt farms open to the public to hunt and some private land. I only saw 5 bucks and 6 does the 7 days I hunted rifle. I killed a scrub rack buck and didn't use my does tags. 2004 and before I used to see 20 deer a day. Now it is lucky to see 2.

Well friend, you are very fortunate. I guarantee you that you will not see anything like that in most of WMUs 4E, 4C or 2G. I know there are lots of deer in the very SE part of the state and in some areas in the western portion of the state.
Case in point, we have a cabin in Clinton Co. (WMU 2G). I go up there every year for bear and in the past 5 years, I've seen a total of 3 deer. But I have killed 2 bear.
