C-rad: You're right. That's why I buy 2 doe tags every year and toss them.
All I hunt is public land. Last year I hunted 17 days in archery season - total deer seen = 2 One of which was an 8 pt that came home with me. Days without seeing a deer 15.
My friend hunted archery, rifle and late season flintlock. Did not see a single deer. And before you go blowing smoke, we've both hunted for over 40 years each and we know what we are doing.
It it my honest opinion that the deer herd in many areas of the state (public land) may have gotten to the point where it may be hard for them to sustain a population let alone make a comeback. I never thought I would say it - but thank God for posted land. At least those deer have a chance.
