I never felt comfortable in boots either until I was around 16. Now, I wear boots 95% of the time. Really only in shoes for running and basketball. It's possible that kids boots just arent made as well, so they're not comfortable. Now, a good pair of boots feel like slippers.

My kid has weird feet. Big and wide for his age. Nothing fits very well. It's a real struggle just shopping for shoes with him. Then he'll say a pair fits just to get out of the store. A couple days later, he's compaining that they don't fit
